Mahshid (Maya) was the best unexpected blessing for my son. He was 2 years old when my back was up against all wall to find daycare that met my schedule, at a reasonable rate. Found Maya Daycare on a Care.com search, and had one day to meet her. Dropped off my son the next morning, who was a stranger to him and he was sleeping, so it was like waking up in a strangers home. I didn't know what to expect, except that I felt, right off the bat, he would be safe and cared for. I never expected what transpired over the course of his time with her (next 3 years), he fell in absolute love with Mahshid as she goes above and beyond just daycare. It really is a transitional process, as she consistently educates them each day, does arts and crafts, teaches writing and reading. It is having someone genuinely that loves kids and wants to see them grow and be educated. My son is now turning 5 years old and it is so bittersweet to see him transition to TK and leave Maya's Daycare. But he is so fully prepared because of everything she has provided and prepared him for. Each day I would drop him off at 6:30am and never once did I have to be concerned about how his day was going to go. In fact, he begged to go to school each morning because that is what he considered her place. It was a hard decision to move him onto TK because Mahshid provides the same level of education as a TK would. This will be a new chapter in my son's life but Mahshid has left an everlasting impression on his little heart and mine too! We love you and are going to miss you!
